Every story has a spark. For me, The Last Patriot didn’t begin with a grand plan or a trilogy in mind—it started with a question: What if the American Revolution wasn’t just a fight for independence, but also a battleground for forces unseen?
That single thought kept me awake at night. I’ve always been fascinated by history—especially the courage, sacrifice, and grit of ordinary men and women during extraordinary times. But as I studied the Revolutionary era, I realized there was room for something more. Beneath the muskets and battle cries, what if there were mysteries at work, hidden powers shaping the destiny of nations?
History Meets Imagination
The American Revolution is often remembered in simple terms—redcoats and patriots, kings and colonies. But to me, it has always been more complex. It was a collision of ideas, loyalties, and identities. Families were divided. Communities were torn apart. Freedom wasn’t guaranteed—it was fragile, uncertain, and bought with blood.
That complexity made the perfect soil for a story that asks deeper questions: How far will someone go for freedom? What unseen battles are waged in the hearts of leaders and soldiers alike? And what happens when the person chosen to lead has nothing left to give?
Meeting Elias Mercer
This is where Elias Mercer was born—the central figure of The Last Patriot. Elias isn’t the perfect hero. He’s scarred, weary, and unsure if he can carry the weight that’s been placed on him. In many ways, he reflects all of us when life demands more than we think we have left.
Through Elias, I wanted to explore what courage looks like when faith is shaken, when hope feels thin, and when destiny calls anyway.
A Trilogy Begins
The Last Patriot is only the beginning of The Twilight of Empires trilogy. This book sets the stage for a journey that moves beyond one man or one war—it’s about the clash of empires, the price of unity, and the shadows that always rise when freedom is at stake.
When readers open these pages, I don’t just want them to be entertained. I want them to feel the weight of history, the pull of destiny, and the thrill of wondering, What if?
Because at its heart, that’s what this trilogy is about: imagining the unseen battles that shape the ones we know.

A Glimpse Inside
Here’s a short excerpt from Chapter 1 of The Last Patriot:
The smoke clung to the trees like a shroud, and Elias Mercer stumbled through the ruins of his unit, the silence broken only by the crackle of dying flames. He had survived—but survival felt like a curse. Somewhere beyond the battlefield, destiny was stirring, though Elias could not yet see its hand. All he knew was that the war for freedom had only just begun—and he was already weary of it.
